The Culinary Feast at Cosmo

The Culinary Feast at Cosmo

Buffets are a really fun way to try new cuisines and completely overindulge. With over 150 dishes from all over the world, East meets West at Cosmo. It really is a feast for the eyes as much as it is for the palate. Walking in one can’t help but stop at the enormous dessert counter and the chocolate fountain. It takes a lot of self control to not just start with dessert. The international cuisines take you on a culinary journey from Italy to China, India, Japan and even Mexico. The variety of food is endless and the aromas coming off the live grill stations is mouth-watering. img_2313

We tend to have an overwhelming sense of FOMO (fear of missing out) when it comes to buffets. The best advice is to eat little and often, to try as much of the food as possible. But better still, save some cuisines for the next visit as there is no way you can possibly try the hundreds of variations on offer. They really do seem to have every type of food you can possibly imagine, whether it’s a pizza, tacos, chicken korma or sushi that you are in the mood for.

On a Saturday night the restaurant is really buzzing, with families, couples and groups of long tables celebrating birthdays. The food on the buffet is all served piping hot as it’s constantly being replenished.

img_3595The dim sum selection was vast with char sui pork, har gui and even custard dim sum amongst them. The teppanyaki live station is all culinary theatrics, with flames flying high, and pans sizzling away. The warm pineapple from the grill was deliciously sweet and juicy and our absolute favourite.

Cosmo is really a celebration of food from around the world. There is an explosion of colours, flavours and aromas. There carvery is rather inviting, with lots of juicy joints of succulent meat.

img_3593The dessert station leaves you spoilt for choice. The chocolate on tap at the chocolate fountain is really a dream come true. There are marshmallows piled high to use to catch the chocolate on.

img_2289If you can get past the chocolate fountain, the warm apple crumble and hazelnut praline profiteroles are rather moreish. There seems to be every flavour of cheesecake imaginable. Fortunately the desserts are constantly being restocked, so the cakes we eyed up during dinner were still available at the end. The superb spread at Cosmo, is accompanied by friendly service and a swift operation in the removal of finished plates.img_3586

img_3589Cosmo is great for a celebration, as there’s definitely something for everyone to enjoy. It’s a fun, casual dining experience, so it’s ideal for a family celebration for Mother’s Day and especially for large groups. There are branches across the country so there’s sure to be one near you.
