Valentine’s Day Special featuring Celebrity Chef- Valentine Warner’s Three Course Menu

Valentine’s day is a great excuse to show your partner how much you love them. Romance is inexpensive and is really about thoughtful gestures. Luxury gifts and fine dining are often well received, but nothing can beat a romantic night in. Light some candles, sprinkle some rose petals, have a good bottle of wine and impress your other half by cresting a gastronomic feast.

“The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach” rings true. If only you could cook like a chef. Now you can, with an inspirational three course aphrodisiac, celebrity chef menu by Valentine Warner. It will tantalise your taste buds and create a perfectly seductive night in. The menu is simple but sumptuous and sure to delight, however primitive your culinary skill-set.

The Shrimp cocktail Mexico style starter is quick to prepare and makes a great sharing starter platter. Infused full of flavour, the shrimp and avocado topped with a tangy coriander relish, exuberates refreshing flavours.

The glistening beef, seasoned with fennel and rosemary served with charred artichoke hearts is rather delicious. The ratte potatoes and pine nuts tossed in a tarragon, basil and Dijon mustard dressing is perfectly aromatic and nutty.

Dessert is divine, and the heavenly sweet aroma of butterscotch will linger in the air and get your mouths watering. We adapted the butterscotch recipe ever so slightly, melting the butter before adding the sugar and water to create a bubbling sauce.

Flambé the bananas with your partner, as it’s sure to add some extra sparks to the evening. The bananas smothered in a warm smooth rum butterscotch sauce, topped with a sprinkling of tangy lime zest are luscious.

This menu is indulgent and sure to impress your partner and set the mood. It should take little over an hour to prepare with easy to source ingredients. What could possibly go wrong? The butterscotch sauce may become a crystallised mess, an unexpected guest knocks on the front door half way through your dinner, or your partner could hate bananas and you could end up scorching your eyebrows when you Flambé. So as long as none of that happens you should be set for a dreamy, memorable romantic Valentine’s Day.
