One can only anticipate extraordinary splendour when the most prestigious store in the world, Harrods, and the finest artisan chocolatier, Godiva, join alliance. The Godiva Chocolate Cafe, Harrods is a chocoholics dream come true. Is there anything better than an all chocolate cafe?
Godiva celebrates 90 years of success, mastering fine chocolate. The new commemorative pastry, the “1926” is the epitome of Godiva. It is as much a feast for the eyes as it is on the palate. An indulgent, floral, fragrant rose and raspberry dessert. A glistening dome topped elegantly with raspberry, and chocolate. The light rose-petal parfait and raspberry confit are delicately layered over moist raspberry financier cake and a crunchy feuilletine. The raspberry sauce seeps through the layers of this divine dessert. Available only for limited time in Godiva Chocolate Cafés in London, Istanbul, Shanghai, Beijing, Dubai and Abu Dhabi it’s obviously one not to be missed.
Unsurprisingly, Godiva’s anniversary is marked by a limited edition box of chocolates. Belgian street artist Oli B has been commissioned to create a unique, modern, fun façade to the traditional chocolate.
With the finest chocolates selected from each decade, the whole box is rather fabulous. The newest edition for 2016 is the Egérie Noir. A smooth raspberry ganache, delicately balanced with essence of rose petals, encased in a dark chocolate shell. This contemporary creation tastes much like a bitesize 1926 dessert.
The decadent Milk chocolate Sin Cake is sure to take you straight to chocolate heaven. A cocoa dusted, layered cake with rich chocolate ganache, silky milk chocolate mousse praliné, crunchy pieces, encased in embellished chocolate thins.
Pouring the jug of molten chocolate over an already amazing dessert makes it rather spectacular. There’s something heartwarming about the aroma of melted chocolate. Ingeniously there’s a pure chocolate shot available on the menu, for complete and utter indulgence.
The Godiva Cafe is the ultimate chocolate experience in London. So it is no wonder there are queues to get a table in the mid afternoon even during the week. There are few places like it in London, where one can capture sheer contentment, as friends fumble over chocolate fondue. Chocolate makes people happy, and Godiva truly delights. The Godiva Chocolate Cafe celebrates chocolate and is the perfect place for a special afternoon treat. It’s ideal for a special birthday or anniversary. It’s luxurious and the desserts irresistible, and we can’t wait to go back.
